Hannah Banister


Hannah is a freelance theatre director. She is part of the Old Vic 12 and has developed a new play by Gareth Farr called Shandyland which will direct next year. As director, theatre credits include: Things I Say When I Don’t Say I Love You (The Lowry/UK Tour); Cigarettes and Moby Dick, El Grito del Bronx (Rose Bruford College); Hush (Paines Plough/Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama/Gate Theatre); This is Art (Shakespeare in Shoreditch Festival); I Killed Rasputin (Assembly George Square); Gardening for the Unfulfilled and Alienated (Pleasance/Edinburgh Fringe); Crimble (Old Red Lion); Trapp (Old Vic) and Best Men (Southwark Playhouse). As associate director, theatre credits include: Fanny and Alexander (Old Vic); Pride and Prejudice (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); The Absence of War (Headlong Theatre); Tiger Country (Hampstead Theatre); Another Country (Trafalgar Studios). As assistant director, theatre credits include: The Angry Brigade (Bush Theatre/Theatre Royal Plymouth); The Tempest (Shakespeare’s Globe); Longing (Hampstead Theatre) and Jumpy (Royal Court Theatre/ West End).
